Course Description
Marketing
11/12 is an academic survey course with a heavy focus on applied skills. This means that you will be covering a large
amount of material over the semester, working closely with others (as being
able to work with others is key to all marketing careers), and completing a
number of real world projects and assignments. Even if you are not destined for a career in
marketing this course will teach you about consumer awareness to help you in
managing your money and lifestyle.
Course Themes
Although
marketing is divided into grades 11 and 12, their content greatly overlaps and
therefore course themes will be taught as one.
Where the courses will diverge is when it comes to project
requirements.
Course Expectations
- Show courtesy and respect at all times
- The number one rule is to
be respectful during class.
- A major component of this
course is technology, the more you respect the equipment, the better
equipment the school will get.
- Of course, all Frank Hurt
rules apply so there will be NO food or hats, etc
permitted.
- Arrive on time and be prepared to work,
just like in a job, if you’re late, there will be consequences.
- This includes bringing your
textbook(s), binder (with paper), pens/pencils
- It is your responsibility
to bring supplies! If you forget
them, do NOT ask to go and get them.
- School Store. All students are required to work 3
lunch hours in the school store. In
return for your work, you will be given up to two free classes. If you are unable to work, there will be
an assignment you must complete in order to pass the class.
- Participate fully and positively.
- Marketing requires that you
be able to work both independently and with others.
- Always put in your best effort!
- The main reason that people
fail this course is because of lack of effort.
- If you are absent, it is
YOUR responsibility to make up all missed work. Assignments will be available on-line so
NO excuses!
